Scale Technician I (Entry Level)

The entry-level technician will work closely with an experienced technician to learn the basics of scale service and repair. Knowledge of basic electrical concepts is preferred including an understanding of current, voltage & resistance; simple AC and DC circuits; electrical power distribution; and use of a digital volt meter. Understanding of Fluid Power (pneumatic), Industrial Controls (relays and input devices) and Basic Computer skills are desirable. Emphasis will be placed on calibration and troubleshooting skills. Training will be provided, both on the job and factory-sponsored, and will include Single Load Cell Theory, Scale Test Procedures, Testing and Calibration, Weights & Measures, Scale Conversions, and Basic Scale Communications (Hardware, Parameters, Modes).

Minimum Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Must demonstrate basic mechanical aptitude.

Must be able to carry at least 100 pounds.

Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. A CDL license is preferred but not required.

Must have an understanding of basic electrical concepts.

 

Scale Technician II (2 – 5 Years Experience)

The Technician II meets all the job requirements and has successfully completed all the training of Technician I, and will work independently and demonstrate a working knowledge of scale service and repair. The ability to troubleshoot and diagnose problems is integral to this position. Continuation of training, both on the job and factory-sponsored, is required. Emphasis will be placed on Instrument Communications, Accessories and Remote Devices, Multiple Loadcell Applications, Installation and Setup.

Additional Requirements:

Between two and five years previous experience working with industrial weighing devices.

 

Scale Technician III (5+ Years Experience)

The Technician III meets all the job requirements and has successfully completed all the training of Technician II, and will work independently and be available to assist in the training of less experienced technicians. The technician will already know how to set up Communications, Accessories and Remote Devices (including peripherals), and Multiple Loadcell Applications. Continuation of training, both on the job and factory-sponsored, is required. Emphasis will be placed on installation and set up of batching systems including recipe and material configuration; programming custom templates; setting up networking and Ethernet applications.

Additional Requirements:

Must have five or more years previous experience working with industrial weighing devices.
